Getting Started
Welcome to StashGuard! This guide will help you get up and running with the app in just a few minutes.
Download the App
StashGuard is available for both iOS and Android devices:
- iOS: Download from the App Store
- Android: Download from Google Play
No login is required! All your data is stored locally on your device.
Setting up Your Household
Adding your household is important, as this data is used by the app for estimating the needed food and water. This, in turn, will give you an estimate of how many days your current stash will last.
To manage your household, go to “Profile” in the pop-out menu. Add, remove, or update members of your household.
When adding a person, the daily calories (kcal) will be estimated based on age and gender, but you can also set custom values if you prefer to do so. The same goes for the daily water requirements.
Set Up Your First Location
Locations are a way for you to keep track of where your stash is. You can be a specific or broad as you prefer. Some of the users we’ve spoken to use them like this:
- Location: Home, Sub-location: Basement
- Location: Home, Sub-location: Pantry
- Location: Toyota Landcruiser, Sub-location: N/A
- Location: Barn, Sub-location: Entry Shed
Note: There’s no need to perfect this from the start. You can even start wihthout locations, and as you use the app, you can pick a structure that makes sense to you. You can always change this later.
